These shows are always aired on citizen television. The probation show runs every Saturday night from 7.30 pm to 9.00pm. the eviction shows are aired every Sunday night from 7.30 pm to 9.00pm.
Tusker project fame is a realty show that covers the whole of east Africa. The aim of the show is to promote the tusker brand and also promote musical talent. In this season a total of fourteen contestants were admitted into the academy. Gaga, Gabiro, Musechu, Prudence, Tony, Steve, Rachel, Anete, Leah, Paleki, Kdenk. Davis, Amelina, and Juveh. Every Sunday the contestants perform on stage, then the judges put four on probation, from which one is evicted during the next eviction show. The academy has faculty comprising of Hellen Akoth Mtawalli who is the Principal, taking over from Achieng Abura. Voice Coach extraordinaire Kavutha, Dance choreographer Sarakasi's Edu, Producer Robert Kamanzi aka RKay and the Keyboard guru Aaron Rimbui .The judges are Ugandan songstress ‘the lovely’ Juliana Kanyomozi, Tanzania's award winning record producer, Hermes ‘Hermy B’ Bariki, Kenyan Ian Mbugua.
These weekend shows are hosted by Kenya’s Sheila ‘Nikki’ Mwanyigha, who also hosted TPF1, TPF2 and TPF3, alongside Uganda’s Dr. Michael ‘Mich’ Egwang, the Vet Med MC.
As the show has evolved, different camera angles and movements have since been executed. Panning and tracking being the most observable ones, especially when showing the audience, introducing the contestants judges and faculty and showing around the stage during the performances. Close ups have also been common, especially during eviction shows, when the contestants are eagerly waiting for the results, to show their facial expressions. Extreme close ups appear once in a while, when Judge Ian mentioned that Gaelle’s shoes were nice, we observed an extreme close up of the shoes. Most of the time, there has been zooming and out especially during the performances. During the duet performances, over the shoulder angles have been most executed. The bird’s eye view angle has been the most capturing angle, bringing out the stage performances in style. The other tactful approach was during the probation show where a contestant was zoomed in from an angle between the drum sets bringing out a spectacular view. For this season, it is evident that more tactful execution of cameras has been observed.
Most of the time, the sound ahs been clear, with efficient omnidirectional microphones speakers in use. The live band which has been performing in most of the shows have produced a clear sound, merging well with the performers. However, there have been hitches observed, during the first shows, the judges microphones were not working and the kept on exchanging. There has also been a mishap where the hosts were talking but the viewers were only hearing the background music or the camera men conversing.
Lighting has been improving in every show, the three point lighting producing clear images most of the time. Few shadows have been observed together with blurred images, but they have always been corrected on time
