smoooth transition from tape recordings to microphones - CYRUS MACHARIA

I Dont know whether its me or we share the same opinon with a majority? the class on tape recording was, to say the least a boring one , and its really nothing to do with the facilitors. i think a good job was done but it isnt as exciting as mics. to say the truth , i have realised that i have been ignorant on mics . anytime i am speaking on a forum , i have never thought of knowing which kind of mic im using .this weeks lecture presents itself as unique simply because the mic is a devise that is used by many people and vey few if none bother to know about its properties and types.
the most important thing to remember if you forget the rest is that mics are selected through the following; their pick up patterns , the proximity effect and their frequencies. There are dynamic mics and condesor mics. These fall into unidirectional mics , bi directioanl and omni directional

at almost the end of the lecture, the lecture gave us an operation to execute. this involved doing a crime documentary.i have never felt so excited to do a production in my entire life as today , i even asked the lecturer whether we can do it practically! she responded by saying that that was the preproduction stage . now when it gets to that you dont speak! i quickly recoiled but was equally ignited since i already knew the stages of production but hadn't thought of it as such .This week's lecture has been an eye opener both from my collegues and the lecturer. have an eye opening week! won't you!

COM264B CLASS REFLECTION

My reflective habits are sitting alone, alone listening to music or simply appreciating God's creation. Classes have been awesome so far and i have to admit that this is one course i will not easily forget. when we the students are able to facilitate class, we are able to easily understand the concepts and practice. I always thought technical stuff is boring but now i have a change of thought. I actually always look forward to Mondays. so far, nothing has inhibited my reflective habits. Last class where we learnt about the turn tables, it was amazing how the co-facilitators incorporated all that we had learnt in the previous classes. At this moment, I really do not know what else we could do to improve because every week, facilitators are getting better and more creative. Thank you members, we have made learning much more fun

this week the class was so interesting. i liked the quizes we did in groups it makes one think faster. i aslo liked the competion amang the groups. that was so outstanding. this week i learnt about the tape racording and the play units. i got a chance to learn how the tape recording works both the analog and the digital. i also did some recoding with my friends. i compaired the two and i could'nt stop thinking how technology has improved over time. from a big analog recorder that u have to carry arround like a handbag with a microphone to a small digital recorder that you can carry arround in your pocket and nobody will notice.

my reflective habits on the 8th feb 2011

The class was just out of the ordinary this week. i do most of my reflective sharing with my friends. We all have different ways we perceive what we learn in class but i believe its better to share with your friends. The activities that promoted my reflective habits is the games we play in class, they really reflect our day to day activities. An example is the broken telephone where by the message we usually send through the media or anything,not everyone gets it the way its intended. People get their own meaning which is different from each other. So far i have nothing that inhibit my reflective habits this week. The class is just wow! No complains.
